Breakfast:
Heritage is proud to serve a selection of sweets and savories from some of Chicago’s finest bakeries. Every day of the week you can find the flakiest croissants, and traditional french pastry from La Fournette, Pierre Zimmermann’s acclaimed cafe in Old Town. Whether you are breakfasting on a toasted pain au chocolat or snacking on a handful of hazelnut spritz cookies you will be able to tell why he is called a Master Baker. If you are looking for more savory options you will find ham and swiss Croque Monsieur (a delicious toasted sandwich) as well as both bacon and veggie quiche. In addition you will find a variety of American-style treats like muffins, giant cookies, and granola bars from our friends at Southport Grocery.
Lunch:
La Fournette is also catering to our lunch crowd by providing a variety of soups and sandwiches. Every sandwich is prepared daily on their hand-made baguettes. The rotating selection includes tuna salad, ham and french swiss, and a salami with hazelnuts and micro-green. All are available as half-sandwiches for snackers and whole sandwiches for the hungrier among us.
Weekends:
We are always looking for ways to make weekends more fun and in our opinion that’s always donuts. Saturdays and Sundays we offer a huge variety of the most sinfully delicious donuts from Glazed and Infused. If you haven’t tried a maple-bacon long john you should. Right now. And, in the true spirit of the general store, weekends will also include fresh loaves of bread, (beer bread, olive fougasse, demi-baguettes, and country loaves to name a few) and salted pretzels from La Fournette.
