"Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile."

Fall is here, and that means cooler temperatures, ripe pumpkins and leaves coming down. It also means Halloween.  So put in your vampire teeth and come to Heritage for a real pumpkin latte, poured by some of Chicago’s best baristas. But be warned: autumn has a tendency to fly by. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, with the relatives and in-laws and all that, and then --  poof! -- it’s straight to snow and jingle bells. So come celebrate fall with us while we still can.

Events

Since seasons are passing quickly, we thought that we would try to slow things down and let you enjoy some good ol’ fashion moments with friends. Movie night is always a winner so we won’t let the beginning of cold weather stop us now, we will just bring the movies inside.

And since you already love movies and bikes, you can also check out the Bicycle Film Festival going on November 2nd-5th. Heritage will be hosting a group ride on Friday, November 2nd to cruise down to the Chicago Cultural Center to watch the kickoff of the shows. As another part of the festivities, a “bike in brunch” will be hosted by yours truly from 10am-2pm.

Anytime the sun peeks out, we are taking full advantage of the People Spot that brightens up our front sidewalk. This is an amazing contribution from the city to bring the neighborhood together. And speaking of neighbors, we love ours! The new,Flour&Water is not messing around when it comes to delicious dinners and brunch. Once  Body R+D and Samgha Yoga Shalaopened up, the excuses got fewer to avoid working off our morning scones.

We are also proud to reveal the new Chief Lux with its wood fenders, high-end components and limited-edition heritage decals along with a “Little” surprise at Northerngrade on October 27th. But it wouldn’t be in true Heritage style if we just brought our bikes, so don’t worry, we will be serving Stumptown coffee.

When you make your way to Northerngrade, you won’t only see us because we will be amongst other local independent Americana retailers such as; Drift EyewearOak St. BootmakersWinter SessionsPenelope’sSir and Madame. {let’s just say that there won’t be a lack of style at this show}

The Shop

Bikes aren’t all that we have been handcrafting for everyone to enjoy this fall. The cafe is creating delicious sandwiches inhouse with ingredients from Pastoral and Butcher & Larder. The featured drinks being poured are a pumpkin latte with real pumpkin, seasonal fruit sodas, and of course the ever-changing varieties of Stumptown. While in Napa, taste wine. While in Chicago, taste coffee. We now have our very own Stumptown coffee king here in Chicago and you can be on the lookout for upcoming coffee tastings. On the weekends we have been chowing down on amazing donuts from Glazed & Infused.
Food trucks will continue to make weekend stops so keep your eyes on our social media feed.

As the cold sets in, we have some ideas for you. If you are an all-season rider, we have new rain capes from Cleverhood and winter Heritage riding caps to keep your head warm under the helmet. If you don’t plan on riding this winter and want somewhere to store your bike, we are offering a winter storage program for $20/month. Space is limited so sign up startsnow! In addition, November through February, when your bike is hibernating, we are offering a custom paint job for $135 (regularly $180) and a tune up for $60 (regularly $80) to prepare your bike (and you) for the next bike season.

A big thank you to everyone who casted their votes on Martha Stewart American Made. All the love made us blush. We were not announced as the winner, but stick around and you will see why we still feel like we we’ve won!
